Pearson Fuels Launches Second Annual E85 Day with $1.85 Fuel
July 17th, 2025
Big savings are coming to flex fuel vehicle drivers. In celebration of the second annual national E85 Day, Pearson Fuels is dropping the price of E85 to $1.85 per gallon at over 230 participating locations across California.
From 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 5 to 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 6, drivers of flex fuel vehicles (FFVs) can fill up with renewable E85 for less than half the current price of regular gasoline in California.
“We’re thrilled to team up with our retail station partners to give drivers the opportunity to fill up for a fraction of the cost of gas on Aug. 5,” said Doug Vind, managing member of Pearson Fuels. “This event will mark our second annual E85 on ‘8/5’ for $1.85.”
E85 is a high-octane, lower-emission fuel made from renewable sources like corn and other biomass. It’s designed for FFVs, which often have a yellow gas cap, a sticker inside the fuel door, or a “flex fuel” badge on the vehicle. California leads the nation in E85 usage—thanks largely to substituting for expensive gasoline.
There are more than 1 million FFVs in California, including new models like the Chevrolet Trax and Buick Envista.
“FFVs offer drivers flexibility,” Vind said. “If gasoline spikes above $5 or $6 a gallon, you have the option to fill instead with cleaner, more affordable E85. We think flex fuel is a key solution to California’s affordability challenges at the pump.”
