From One San Diego Station to E85 Across California

In 2003, finding E85 in California meant finding one station on El Cajon Boulevard in San Diego. Today, more than 650 stations across the state offer E85, including more than 500 supplied by Pearson Fuels.

The first location

Pearson Fuels launched its first E85 station at 4067 El Cajon Boulevard. From there, the network expanded as more station owners added E85 alongside the fuels they already offered. As accessibility continues to grow, so does E85’s popularity. Flex fuel is consistently more affordable than standard unleaded gasoline, especially with volatile California gas prices.

How the network grew

The demand for flex fuel continues across the convenience industry. Pearson Fuels added over 60 stations in 2025 and announced its 500th supplied location in April 2026. Each location represents a partnership with a station owner who chose to offer E85 to local drivers. The network Pearson Fuels created continues to expand across the state.

What growth means for drivers

A larger network can make E85 easier to find during everyday driving. A station near home is helpful; one near work, school or a regular travel route gives motorists another opportunity to fuel up for less. The accessibility of E85 is essential to its growth. More stations mean more drivers can save more money.

Pearson Fuels continues to focus on areas where E85 access is limited. To see what’s available along your route, use the station finder.
